This is Cambodia's biggest waterfall and today Emmie and I ziplined across it [the things I do for her ] and while I was terrified and nearly wet my pants it was so amazing and Em just loved it as usual. Tomorrow we are off for our first overland border crossing by ourselves and should be in Ho Chi Minh in the afternoon. I've been thinking that I might start a fund for the eles. I would love us to raise money to help Sambo with her treatment and my dream is to set up a rescue fund so that when the EVP or other elephant sanctuaries need to rescue elephants we can help with the funding. It can cost up to 20k US to buy an ele, and there are many that need our help. One story that broke my heart is of the poor ele who is now too old to work and has been locked in a hot shed in Siem Reap for years while her owner refuses to release her. As soon as I'm back in Vietnam I am finding all the details and we are ON THE CASE. הרקע להרפתקה החיובית הזאת לא היה כל כך אופטימי. איווי, כך מתברר, חוותה משבר לא פשוט בעקבות מותה בטרם עת של חברה קרובה. החוויה הקשה הזאת גרמה לה להבין כמה החיים קצרים, והיא החליטה לנצל כל רגע מהם עד תומו. יחד עם ביתה היא יצאה לחוות את כל מה שליקום יש להציע לה. כן.. כל אחד והתובנות שלו על החיים.

אם תהיתם כיצד מאפשרת לה אחריותה כהורה לעקור את ביתה מכל המוכר לה ולהפסיק את לימודיה באחת, איווי חשבה גם על זה. בכל יום מתחברת אמי בת ה-6 למערכת מתוקשבת ולמודת את אותו חומר שלומדים חבריה לכיתה. את התובנות האמיתיות על החיים, כך אומרת עימה,היא לומדת על בשרה מחוויותיה מסביב לעולם.

"אני לא יכולה להסביר כמה זה מדהים זה שלי ולביתי יש חיבור אמיתי בעקבות חוויה משותפת שעברנו. אנחנו מחזיקות ידיים ועם חיוך ענק שמרוח לנו על הפנים, אנו צופות בקופים בג׳ונגל או עושות קמפינג בחומת סין. האפשרות להיות יחד כל יום ולחוות הרפתקאות נפלאות, זה שונה לגמרי מחיינו בבית. אני עבדתי, אמי היתה בבית ספר, ותיזזנו ממחויבות אחת לאחרת. היה לנו מעט מאוד זמן ליהנות אחת מהשניה".

היעד הבא של השתיים הוא קמבודיה, והעולם עוד גדול, לנו נותר לקנא מעט, ולפעור עיניים מול התמונות עוצרות הנשימה.

We are having a home day today in the nice warm apartment, I am trying to do a HIT workout after months of inactivity in front of one amused and critical child, a perplexed dog and disinterested cat. The rest of the day is for lazing. I love homedays! This is one of my favourite piccies of me and a Emmie from our adventures, and it was taken in China just a few months ago. Like most mums I don't have a lot of pics of us together but there are a bunch of hideous selfies that we just keep on the phone for us. Anyway this pic was taken at the incredible Jiuzhaigou National Park, about eight hours north of Chengdu by bus. The lakes here are deep and blue and crystal clear and the forest and sky is reflected in it like in a mirror. We had a great time with a bunch of people we met from the hostel and traveled on a crazy bus ride with (the guide kept screaming down a microphone and every time we stopped I would pull the cord out haha) - Malgorzata from Poland, Nata a Russian model and your typical fabulous Israeli man, Daniel - active, fun and athletic. Good things come to those who wait ...and pray...and we waited in Phnom Penh for a week and whoop - China visa success!! Christmas in China, how exciting!! Now we can head down to the gorgeousness of the Cambodian coast and Koh Rong Samloem - the pictures of crystal clear water and beautiful golden sand are driving me crazy! I just can't wait to get there. I'm not sure if we will have wifi and even so, I've told Emmie that for the next four days the computer and phone are staying packed away - but if I have a signal, electricity and can sneak my phone out of my bag while she is sleeping I will! Here is Emmie at the top of Elephant Mountain in Taipei, Taiwan...true Aussies, we walked up here in our thongs [Flip flops! We were fully clothed ] and the view was fabulous - especially of the awesome Taipei 101. You can't see it here but this is a really high rock - I didn't even get up but Emmie scrambled to the top with a bit of help from some kind locals. In Hualien, south of Taipei on our way to Sun Moon Lake, we saw a Chinese doctor who mixed up a pot of cream and a powder for Emmie's fungus face and healed it in 24 hours after two rounds of antibiotics had failed. We had so much fun here - the people are so beautifully natured and kind, music plays on subway stations as trains arrive, transport is easy, food is delish and there is so so much to see like beautiful temples, food and flower markets, museums, galleries and day trips to hot springs and waterfalls. But of all the things I love about Taipei its fancy, clean, accessible toilets and baby feeding/change rooms are right up at the top of the list. It's such a fabbo place for families .
